What does it cost to rent a condo/apartment/room in Bangkok?
It can cost as little as 3500 baht (100 USD) p/m for a simple room, 20 sqm with a bathroom. Maybe there won’t be air conditioning at this price. There are always going to be cheaper rooms but with a cheaper room in Bangkok, comes a much lower level of quality or a standard that you might accept. If you can rough it, you’ll pay less. For around 15 000 baht (430 USD) p/m you can rent a relatively new/modern condo in a high rise. These are around 30 to 40 sqm in size but can be readily found. Of course you can pay a lot more depending on where you want to live and the proximity to public transport. For example, a house can be as little as 10000 but it may be far away from what you need. People compensate for this in many ways; buy a motorcycle, share the rent etc.
Will there be a telephone in the accommodation?
Not usually, the mobile telephone is ubiquitous throughout the country. Phones are relatively inexpensive to purchase, as are prepaid phone cards. You just need your passport to register a number. No burners in Thailand.

Does the school pay the airfares?
No, you need to get here.

How easy is it to get out of Bangkok on weekends and holidays?
