A preposition is a word used to link nouns, pronouns, or phrases to other words within a sentence. Prepositions are usually short words, and they are normally placed directly in front of nouns. In some cases, you'll find prepositions in front of gerund verbs.
Ok, communication in English doesn’t always need a preposition. The difference is the quality and the broader usability of a users’ English for years after they start a quality language program and a good teacher. We’ve all probably gesticulated wildly at a taxi driver or food seller to communicate what we need. Key words are often most needed, however, prepositions are critical in taking English to a more useful level. Don’t be scared to ask your students to repeat phrases and sentences, stressing their inclusion of prepositions.
