Checklist for writing and comprehending a newspaper report/article
Your students will benefit from reading. Fiction is great and daily current events and news are an even better way to get their English flowing. Think of the many questions that are formed when enquiry is applied.
Have you included a headline? What is a headline? Why have one?
Who is the report about? Who wrote it? Who wins/loses?
What is the event you are reporting? Why did you chose it?
Why did this event happen? Who would be most interested?
Where does the event take place? Why do people care?
When did this event take place? Why is this event important?
